TUI Expands Aggressively Across Asia with New Hotels in Cambodia and China

Hotel News: TUI Makes a Bold Move into Southeast Asia

TUI Group, one of the most dominant players in global tourism, is rapidly ramping up its footprint in Asia with a series of high-profile hotel launches and project signings. Most notably, the hospitality giant has just opened its first hotel in Cambodia—TUI Blue Sihanoukville—marking its official entry into one of Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing travel destinations.

Strategically located in the heart of the vibrant coastal city of Sihanoukville and just minutes from the beach, TUI Blue Sihanoukville offers 189 stylish rooms and suites designed with the brand’s signature contemporary flair. Guests can enjoy modern amenities including a cutting-edge fitness center and a luxurious outdoor swimming pool, making the hotel a prime choice for lifestyle-driven international and domestic travelers.

First TUI Suneo Hotel Opens in China

Simultaneously, TUI has launched its TUI Suneo brand in China with the opening of TUI Suneo Shenzhen Manwan, located in the Dapeng Bay New District of Shenzhen. This Hotel News report highlights that this new property combines urban sophistication with natural scenery, offering 215 well-appointed rooms and generous outdoor spaces to cater to vacationers seeking both comfort and tranquility in one of China’s liveliest cities.

Peter Krueger, TUI Group’s Chief Strategy Officer and CEO of Holiday Experiences, shared, “With our expansion in Asia, we continue to grow our global presence. Our strong leisure hotel brands are not only attracting new partners to our management and franchise agreements, but also offering appealing holiday experiences for new guests from the region.”

More Hotels on the Horizon Across Asia

TUI’s ambitions in Asia don’t stop there. The company has just signed three new projects this week and now boasts a pipeline of 26 hotels in the region, expected to launch in the near future. These new developments span countries like Indonesia, the Maldives, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and more.

Artur Gerber, Managing Director of TUI Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the strategic importance of the region: “Adding a new destination and launching an additional brand in Asia is an important milestone for us. Our expertise in the leisure hotel industry offers great added value not only to guests from Europe but also from Asia.”

Currently, TUI’s Asian portfolio consists of 22 operational resorts, and momentum is building. Already in this financial year, TUI has added TUI Blue Maduzi Bangkok, TUI Blue Berawa in Bali, and TUI Blue Guilian Watermark Promenade in China to its collection. Looking ahead, three new hotels in Vietnam, along with additional properties in China and Cambodia, are expected to open by September 2025.

These strategic expansions by TUI mark a significant leap in its global development strategy and reinforce the growing importance of Asia in the post-pandemic travel landscape. By establishing strong roots across both well-known and emerging destinations, the group is well-positioned to capture a diverse and growing market of leisure travelers from both within Asia and beyond. Expect more bold moves from TUI as it races ahead in the Asian hospitality game.
