Hotel News: Accor Sweeps Top Spots in Prestigious Airport Hospitality Awards

In a commanding show of strength and consistency, Accor has taken center stage in the 2025 Skytrax World Airport Awards, securing four out of the six top rankings for Best Airport Hotels in the Australia and Pacific region. The hotel giant continues to raise the benchmark for excellence in airport hospitality, with its flagship property, Pullman Brisbane Airport, clinching the coveted title of Best Airport Hotel in the Australia and Pacific zone.

This marks the fourth time in five years that Pullman Brisbane Airport has been awarded this prestigious recognition. Not only is it a local champion, but the hotel has also made its mark globally, previously being listed among the Top 10 World’s Best Airport Hotels in 2019 and 2022. This Hotel News report highlights how Accor is redefining what it means to offer world-class accommodation within airport precincts, blending efficiency with elegance for today’s discerning traveler.

Top Honors Across the Region

Accor’s award-winning portfolio in the 2025 Skytrax Awards includes:

-Pullman Brisbane Airport – Ranked #1 in Australia and the Pacific

-Pullman Auckland Airport – 3rd in the region, crowned #1 in New Zealand

-Pullman Sydney Airport – 5th in the region

-Novotel Brisbane Airport – 6th in the region

These accolades reflect Accor’s long-term strategy of positioning itself as the leader in airport hospitality. Over the past decade, the group has grown its airport hotel portfolio by a staggering 144%, now managing 22 airport hotels across the Pacific region. One of the most significant additions is the $230 million Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport complex, which boasts 464 rooms, advanced wellness centers, and dynamic co-working areas—transforming the airport into more than just a stopover point.

Future Icons in the Making

Accor shows no signs of slowing down. The upcoming Pullman Perth Airport, set to open in 2027 with 240 rooms, will be the first-ever hotel developed directly within the Perth Airport estate. Meanwhile, across the Tasman Sea, the newly opened Te Arikinui Pullman Auckland Airport is making waves as New Zealand’s first five-star airport hotel. Located just 100 metres from the international terminal, it is not only a hospitality marvel but also a cultural icon, seamlessly integrating Māori design aesthetics into its architecture and guest experience.

Raising the Bar for Airport Hotels

Accor’s success is more than just a numbers game—it’s about elevating expectations. Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer for Accor in the Pacific, emphasized, “Airport precincts are evolving rapidly, and Accor is proud to be at the forefront of this transformation. Today’s travellers are seeking more than convenience—they’re looking for memorable, enriching stays, whether travelling for business, leisure or both.”

This sentiment is echoed by Alex Penklis, COO of Brisbane Airport Hotels Group, who added, “Since opening, our vision has been to redefine what an airport hotel can offer—combining premium comfort, thoughtful design, and a seamless guest experience.”

Beyond the Terminal Walls

From luxury to economy, Accor operates more than 400 properties throughout the Pacific under brands like Sofitel, MGallery, Pullman, Swissôtel, Mövenpick, Grand Mercure, Novotel, Mercure, Mantra, ibis, and TRIBE. Its multi-brand strength ensures that travelers—whether they seek five-star indulgence or budget-friendly convenience—find a welcoming, high-quality experience at any airport they touch down in.

As airport precincts become bustling hubs of business, culture, and relaxation, Accor is perfectly positioned to lead the next chapter in travel hospitality. Its strategic investments, culturally attuned properties, and dedication to service excellence are not just shaping the hotel industry—they’re reshaping the entire airport experience.
